Weather today (Jan 30, 2013)

No significant change in the weather pattern is expected today where the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon and the tail end of a cold front remains over the eastern section of Visayas.

Light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected today over eastern and central Visayas particularly in Samar provinces including Bicol region (mostly afternoon thunderstorms/showers in Albay, Sorsogon and Catanduanes) while light late morning or afternoon rainshowers are expected over the whole of Mindanao and the rest of Visayas.

Cagayan Valley, the provinces of Aurora and Quezon and some areas in CAR will also have light rains. The Western sections of northern (Ilocos Region) and central (Zambales and Bataan) will continue to enjoy mostly clear skies.

In the evening, the chance of rainshowers in Mindanao decreases while western Visayas should expect increasing possibility of rainshowers and thunderstorms.

In Metro Manila, it will remain partly cloudy with slight chance (20%) of light rain. However, Weather Central’s forecast goes for an increased probability (up to 40-50%) of light rains in many areas tomorrow.

Rough sea conditions remain over the seaboards of northern Luzon as well as eastern seaboards of central and southern Luzon due to the strong northeasterly wind flow.
