LPA east of Visayas and TD outside PAR

At 4 AM today, the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated by PAGASA at 830 km east of Visayas and is still embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) which is across Luzon and Visayas. Today, regions of Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol, the whole Visayas as well as Caraga region will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will also be cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will prevail over Luzon becoming southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao.

Based from Weather Central’s rainfall forecast, the whole of Luzon will experience scattered light rainshowers and thunderstorms today becoming moderate to, at times, heavy over some parts of Ilocos region (La Union and Ilocos Sur), Cordillera (Benguet, Mt. Province and Ifugao), and Bicol (Sorsogon and Camarines Sur). Eastern section of Visayas will have rainshowers and thunderstorms the whole day today while the western part (whole Panay island) will have afternoon or evening light rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming moderate over Bohol and southern Cebu. Moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms (from mid-afternoon to early evening) are possible over the provinces of Bukidnon, Cotabato, South Cotabato and Zamboanga del Sur while the rest of Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN and Davao regions will have light rainshowers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy to overcast skies (from mid-afternoon to evening) will be experienced in Metro Manila. Slight chance (30-40%) of morning rainshower or thunderstorm but increasing to 80% or more in the afternoon until evening. Winds will be light westerly while maximum temperature is expected to be from 30-31C while the ‘init factor’ is from 35-36C.
