Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm Gorio

TROPICAL STORM GORIO has maintained its strength and is now in the vicinity of Batangas.
Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm GORIO was estimated based on all available data over the vicinity of Batangas (14.0°N, 120.8°E).
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 26 kph.
Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm GORIO is expected to be at 500 km Northwest of Subic, Zambales by tomorrow morning and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibity (PAR).
Public Storm Warning Signal No.2 (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hrs):
Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon Province, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces incl. Lubang Island.
Public Storm Warning Signal No.1 (Winds of 45-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours):
La Union, Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Polillo Island, Southern Aurora, Camarines Provinces, Albay, Burias Island, Romblon, Coron and Calamian Group of Islands.
• Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.
• Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signals #2 & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
• Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
• The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
