Last June
14, 2012 at pass 5:00 in the afternoon, a call from Gen. Hughes City Proper
called a child burned by accident with a cooked “damog”. ICER Rescue 1 arrived
at the scene; folks informed the crew that the patient is playing when he accidentally
didn’t saw the cook “damog” and rolled over his body. The child immediately given
medical attention, flash down with plain NSS and wrap with plastic to prevent
other infection. The crew informed base the patient sustained first degree or
superficial burn. But as EMT-Advance and documentor, I informed the team leader
that the patient suffers from partial thickness or second degree burn. Second degree burn consists with blisters,
intense pain, white to red skin and moist and mottled skin. The patient brought to Western Visayas Medical Center in
Mandurriao to seek more medical treatment. (ebsp)
