Tropical Depression QUINTA update

Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Depression "QUINTA"
Issued at 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, 25 December 2012
The Low Pressure AREA (LPA) East of Northern Mindanao has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "QUINTA".

400 km East of Surigao City
Coordinates:10.0°N, 129.5°E
Strength:Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center 
Movement:West at 19 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook:Wednesday morning:expected to make landfall over Dinagat Island
Thursday morning:50 km East of Cuyo Island
Friday morning:200 km Northwest of Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and over the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao due to Tropical Depression "Quinta" and the Northeast Monsoon.
