LPA as of 10am



WEATHER ADVISORY NO. 3

For: Low Pressure Area (LPA)
Issued at: 10:30 AM, 13 January 2014

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 70 km southwest of Cagayan de Oro City (8.0˚N, 124.3˚E). This weather system will bring cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms over CARAGA region, Zamboanga peninsula, eastern and central Visayas and Bicol region which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of southern Luzon, rest of Visayas and the rest of Mindanao will also be cloudy with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Residents are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures.

Strong to gale force northeasterly surface wind flow associated with the surge of the northeast monsoon is expected to affect northern and eastern Luzon, Visayas and Zamboanga del Norte. Hence, small seacrafts and fishing vessels are advised not to venture out into the sea due to big waves generated by this weather system.
