March 21, 2012. Two motorcycles collided at the corner of Jereos and Gustilo St. in La Paz at around 8:30pm.
Upon arrival the team gathered information about the incident, and found out that the two motorcycle slammed into one another.
The ICER team found two patient, one was found lying on the street with obvious signs of alcohol consumption. Upon noting the mechanism of injury, C-spine control was performed, C-collar was applied, and the patient was immobilized in the backboard and loaded into the ambulance for further assessment. While the other one sustained only minor injuries.
ICER team advised the first patient that he needs to be taken to the hospital for further medical and trauma treatment. But the patient refused and asks only to be taken home to its residence, the team explained to the patient the consequences of his decision, and was given the patient refusal form to read and sign.
