Tropical Depression JONILA as of 10am July 31, 2013
Tropical Depression “JOLINA” has intensified into a tropical storm with an international name "JEBI" ("swallow" in South Korea).
LOCATION OF THE EYE/CENTER: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “JOLINA” was estimated based on all available data at 450 km West of Subic, Zambales (15.0°N, 115.6°E).
STRENGTH: Maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
MOVEMENT: Forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.
FORECAST POSITIONS: Tropical Storm “JOLINA” is expected to be at 660 km West of Subic, Zambales tomorrow morning and already outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
• Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
• Tropical Storm “JOLINA” will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA and CALABARZON.
• Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was at 210 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (14.3°N, 126.4°E).

At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "#JOLINA" was estimated based on all available data at 390 km West of #Subic, #Zambales (14.6°N, 116.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.
#MIMAROPA and #CALABARZON will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. #MetroManila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Palawan and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to occasionally strong coming from the southwest to southeast with moderate to occasionally rough seas.

As of 4:00 pm today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) west of Ambulong, Batangas has developed into Tropical Depression and was named "JOLINA" and was estimated based on all available data at 240 km West-Southwest of Subic, Zambales (14.1°N, 117.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph.
#MIMAROPA and #WesternVisayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.
