A call received
before 12 noon on May 11, 2012 from DSWD Regional Office that a men fall from a
temporary canopy near a tree at their canteen. ICER Medic 1 ambulance proceed
and upon arrival the patient is sitting on the tree branch that broke off that
caused the fall. The crew checks the patient’s base line vital signs and the
other crew assess the patient and found out that possible femoral fracture or
pelvic fracture and I as documentor and EMT-Advance was ask by my colleague to
check if the affected leg had shortening signs. But upon evaluation the patient’s
leg had no shortening sign. Traction splint was not needed. The crew continuo and
wooden splint was introduced to the affected leg. ICER Medic 1 radio-in to the
base that the patient’s condition and vital signs. We also ask the DSWD
personnel if what hospital they preferred and they answered WVSU Medical Center
and radio-in to the base. We proceeded after loaded the patient on ICER Medic 1
Ambulance with one DSWD Regional Officer. ICER base informed that WVSU MC had ok
signal from the ER to proceed and look for Doctor Dyan at Trauma/Surgery Junior
Intern to be endorsed. (ebsp)
