July 25, 2011 Disaster Simulation Drill

Last year, ICER held the Disaster Simulation Drill in-line with Disaster Preparedness Month on July 25. The simulation was a test on the actual response time to getting to the accident area in rapid time. The scenario involves with multi cab loaded with passengers and thrown out a lot of passengers on the sides, a taxi driver was pin down also at the scene, but no passenger on board at the time of the accident. Also involve on the scene, a tamaraw FX hit the front left side of the taxi and the driver knock unconscious. And finally, a tricycle also hit both tamaraw FX and the taxi making the tricycle sandwich by the two vehicles.

ICER informed all rescue groups around Iloilo City to proceed to the multiple vehicular accident area includes Mountain Tiger, Tiger Shark, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, Philippine Coast Guard K9 team, WVCST Savers, Iloilo Citizen Action Group, Federation Fire, Philippine Red Cross, Trinity Ambulance Service and other rescue groups. Also Traffic helps secure the route and Police maintain order at the area. ICER immediately proceeds to make designated triage area. One by one rescue groups brought the patient on the triage area. ICER team and other rescue group that have ambulance brought the patients to the nearest hospital to treat the injured.

After the simulation drill, all rescue groups involve gather for debrief if any is locking on the response plus reactions poured-in and answered by ICER. Positive critic accepted and also helps if any scenario arrived. (ebsp)
