Medical Transport

The Iloilo City Emergency Responders (ICER), the response team of Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, received a call requesting transport of a patient with a medical condition. ICER caters not only emergency but also public service like medical transport depending on the situation if granted or not. On May 31, 2012, the Medic 3 ambulance crew had a medical transport and urgently  proceeded to St. Paul’s Hospital with a female patient suffering from appendicitis. Upon arrival, the patient was seen complaining of abdominal pain with a pain rate scale of 5-8 varying on the position or the agitation of environment. The crew obtained baseline vital signs before transport and likewise requested for a hospital crew and a resident to accompany the team. The Medic 3 team, together with the crew of SPH, proceeded to the Medical City Iloilo (previously Savior International Hospital) in Molo. (ebsp)
