Preparedness
is key. Last April 13, the Bakhaw Elementary School Summer Program conducted an
earthquake drill to prepare students, as well as teachers, on emergency and
safety practices during an earthquake and some insights. The participants were
taught on the basics of an earthquake, how to react, how to keep safe, and were
given possible areas to keep safe in the Bakhaw Elementary School premises. Also
present on the ceremonies is Boy Scout Chairperson, City Councillor, Jason Gonzales.
During the drill, the participants were given an almost realistic view of an
earthquake based on the experiences of the drill facilitators. Moreover, the
Iloilo City Emergency Responders were present during the earthquake drill to
observe the event. (AG/ebsp/djgp)
