Motorcycle hit pick-up
As I listen to ICER radio, just few minutes before 8 in the evening on April 8, 2012. ICER base informed Medic 3 if there finish with their call. Medic 3 informed that they are still in there call-up. ICER base informed them if they can finish it as soon. But They aren't finished. A MVA (motor vehicle accident) was called by the Jaro Police. Medic 2 proceed to the scene. As they arrive at the scene, they reported that they have two patient on the street. All patient are all intoxicated. I proceed on the scene as I heard that they have two patient as all ambulance where all have call-ups. As I arrived at the scene. Medic 2 load the first patient and proceed to the nearest hospital. I quickly take the photo as they leave the scene. I saw the second patient on the spine board with two ICER staff assess the patient. I noticed that they have not means of communication at the scene. I brought my radio as I take some photos. I reported that the second patient is left with two staff on duty. As a documentor and a EMT, I noticed that they have only one trauma kit. I realized that the other medical kit is brought with Medic 2 crew to assess the first patient. I immediately grab my medical kit at the pick-up. As I approach my co-workers, they as me if I have medical kit with me. I immediately pulled out my kit and hand over to them. I reported to the base that we need another ambulance on the scene. ICER base told us that Medic 1 is on the way. I also added that the patient has possible dislocation at his leg and knee. Severe pain in his knee, the patient added. Radio communication is very rough due to the location and radio repeater is still not available. ICER base receive our radio signals, very chappy. One of our Chinese volunteer (Lemon 1) also helped us to relay our message to the base. Two minutes after, Medic 1 arrive. They quickly re-assessed the patient and two staff from Medic 2 who was left on the scene endorsed to the Medic 1 crew. After Medic 1 loaded the second patient. They radio-in, that they will proceed to the nearest hospital. Both ambulance proceed to Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao instead in WVSU Medical Center. The WVSU Medical Center refused the two patient due to lock of Neuro Doctor on duty and they also added that they have no available stretcher. I and the two Medic 2 crew proceed back to ICER base after.
