DTI Earthquake drill

After the alarming February 6 earthquake, the people of Iloilo City knew better. The disturbing magnitude 6.8 earthquake awakened the city of Iloilo, in this regard the city officials and residents of Iloilo City fervently continued to conduct earthquake drills on various departments, recreational places, public institutions, educational premises and government agencies. Apparently, the Department of Trade and Industry was one of them. Last April 3 at 2 in the afternoon, the DTI Office conducted an earthquake drill which aims to equip persons on basic safety and proper refuge during an earthquake. In 2 minutes of drill time, all building occupants were able to evacuate the building. The drill was primarily based on the occupants’ last encounter with a real earthquake. To add, the drill prepares and gives persons an almost realistic scenario all the while giving affirmation how to remain calm and alert during this distressing catastrophic event.
